Bring Along The Dropships Etc.
Don't leave home without at least a Dropship, Overlord, or Shuttle filled with SCVs, Drones, or Probes. If you are attacked and have no way out, these peons will enable you to start a new base.

Zerg Tactics - Decoy Hatchery.
By mid to late game, don't be afraid to plop down a Hatchery near your allies or team staging area (usually the center), even if it's not near resources. This will give you another troop factory; even better, it will let you build a Nydus Canal from your most defended area to your allies' bases or to the front lines. It doesn't cost anything. At worst, it's a decoy that your enemies will waste time attacking.

Know Your Protoss Units.
The Protoss has the strongest units as they are protected by energy shields that heal quickly. However; once the Protoss buildings themselves are damaged, they cannot be repaired.

Uncloak the Terrans.
For Zergs, this means using the Queen's Ensnare skills to find cloaked units such as Ghosts or Wraiths.
Protoss can use an observer in their offensive troops as they scout Terran territory.

Keep Mining for Vespene Gas.
Vespene gas is never truly depleted. When the game informs you the mine is depleted, it's lying to you. Don't take it personally. What's really happening is that your worker units can now only carry two units of Vespene instead of the full eight in each trip. You are much better off reassigning the units to untapped Vespene geysers, but it's nice to know that no Vespene mine is ever completely empty.

Zerg Tactics - Scourge Bombing.
Use them against Carriers and Battlecruisers. You should always have at least eight or ten of these mini-fighters hot-keyed and waiting in reserve. Two groups are even better. When you get attacked by a superclass ship, grab a Scourge squadron and aim it directly at your target. A few will get picked off, but as long as five or six hit the target, you'll take it out.

Anti-Protoss Tactics - Get Airborne.
If you can get air power early in a game against the Protoss, you'll be in aposition of strength. Not only will you be able to stop the Protoss Zealot units, but you will be able to hold down resource-rich areas.

Anti-Zerg Tactics - Topple the Spires.
Go after Spires. It's the thing that looks like a mushroom and lets the Zerg build air units. Unless your opponent is a believer in redundant buildings, destroying a Spire will set him back some. This structure is also required for building Spore Colonies. Take out a Spire and you can seriously cripple the Zerg empire.

Protoss Tactics - Slugmobile Care.
Reaver beware. There's a reason these units resemble slugs--they act like them. These slow-moving bad boys require your constant attention, especially in battle. Like the Carriers, you must monitor this unit's supply of ammunition and rebuild it. Plan accordingly by arranging battles that use both the Reavers and the Carriers in one section of the screen. The awesome combined firepower of these two unit types can make short work of almost any enemy installation and you can quickly manufacture more units for both as the battle rages. If you have to zip between raging battles on separate sides of the map, high-maintenance units like the Reaver are going to end up acting as convenient targets for your enemies while they await your resupply commands.

Terran Tactics - Battlecruiser Online
In air combat, the magnificent Battlecruiser, with its Yamato Cannon, has to have one of the most powerful air attacks of all the races combined. They can create quite an impact in groups of two or three. In large-scale battles, use them to pick off moderately powerful targets. Make sure you retreat them when they've sustained significant damage--they're too expensive to lose, and the Terran SCVs are handy at repairs.

Protoss Tactics - Hog the Resources.
Quickly scout the area for other resources. Defending these resources, particularly early in a multiplayer game, is easier than you may think. Your Zealots are amazingly powerful as a first combat option and can easily handle the best of the other races' ground troops. Defend new resource-rich areas with a handful of Zealots and a photon cannon or two and you'll have no problems whatsoever. In the time it takes your opponents to get airborne (the Zealots' main fear), you should have better defenses in place.

Terran Tactics - Nukem.
Use your nukes against massed troops, rather than buildings. First off, troops that are awaiting battle orders are more frequently unprotected, so your ghosts can get through. And second, there's no better way to soften up your opponent and break his morale than by wiping out or seriously damaging his "killer" battle group.

Better Mining.
When harvesting minerals, remember that only one mining unit can access each cluster of minerals at a time. Sending all of your units to the exact same mineral location (square) can cause delays as each mining unit waits for access to that location. To speed things up, assign each mining unit to a different square.

Use Detector Units
Don't underestimate the value of Detector units (like science vessels, overlords, or observers). They can spell the difference between conquest and carnage when you're being assaulted by hoardes of invisible attackers.

Anti-Terran Tactics - Plague Them.
Zergs can use the Plague to reduce the hit points of Terran infantry. By following up with an attack, a significant portion of Terran ground troops will be erased.

Terran Tactics - Command the Land.
When you've discovered prime territory for expansion, don't just send an SCV out to the site to build a new Command Center. If you have some spare resources and more than two existing Command Centers, pick up and move one of them to the desired location. This way, you can take over part of the map before anyone else.

Terran Tactics - Start Your Vulture Prduction Early On In The Game.
Get your Vulture production going and Spider Mine research completed as soon as you can. Vultures make for great scout units due to their high speed, and they have the Spider Mines going for them as well. Sure, laying Spider Mines is a high-maintenance kind of thing. But it's well worth it--20 or 30 mines laid out in front of your base will create hell for approaching enemy ground units.

Spider Mines.
If you even suspect that Terran Spider Mines are in your path, send in observing units to determine their exact location so that you can react accordingly. Those things are fast and deadly, and can wipe out your front line before you can say shrapnel.
